5 Day Frame Building Experience
5 Day Frame Building Experience
A 5 Day frame building course where you will build your own bicycle frame with the help of Rob Quirk.
Build your own bike with Quirk Cycles!
Over the course of 5 days, participants will be introduced to the skills and processes involved in making a fillet brazed steel frame. Throughout the course, experienced frame builder Rob Quirk will guide while you build your own frame in a 1-1 teaching environment. Rob has a decade of experience under his belt building frames. Having graduated from the Bicycle Academy he went full circle and became a teacher there guiding a new generation of frame builders. Not only will you benefit from Rob’s years of experience, he is one of the only builders with teaching experience.
The course will focus on the practical aspects of framebuilding with key aspects of theory to better your understanding and knowledge. Participants will go through the process of designing their frame, selecting tubing while discussing design theory and fit beforehand in a one to one remote consultation process. You will then visit the workshops for a 5 day hands-on practical course where you will build it! All aspects of frame construction will be experienced including mitering, brazing and silver soldering. Throughout, you will learn the basics of the processes needed to finish the frame ready for paint.
Experiences take place in Quirk Cycles East London workshop, nearest tube Hackney Wick.
